Mrs. Hilde Van Meirhaeghe (VETWORKS), has years of experience working as Poultry Consultant for VETWORKS giving technical support to the pharmaceutical industry in poultry health worldwide.
Hilde Van Meirhaegue, graduated in 1982 Doctor in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Ghent (Belgium). She started to work as general practitioner for the RSA Group (United Kingdom) working in several European and African countries with different animal species. In 1998 she started at Derco International (Belgium) working mainly with layers and guinea fowl: breeding, meat production and veterinary responsibility for the hatchery. Later, she joined DGZ-Flanders (Animal Health Services- Flanders) in 2007 as program officer for Poultry Health, follow up of official programs for Salmonella. She was involved in different study projects on hygiene, food safety and health issues in partnership with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Ghent and the Institute for Research in Agriculture and Fisheries ILVO. Currently, she is working as Poultry Consultant for Vetworks giving technical support to the pharmaceutical industry in poultry health worldwide. Also, she is an Academic adviser of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine – University of Ghent- Department of Virology, Parasitology and Immunology and since 2013 she is also president of the Belgian association of Hatcheries.
